Body

Ergonomics, Frame

Whether you want to pick up the torch and weld or bring bold ideas to life through high-precision CNC machining, Body has it all. Body is made up of two subsystems: Frame and Ergonomics. Our frame engineers spend lots of time iterating the frame design based on simulations to make sure the frame is as safe and light as possible. They also work with the other systems to ensure effective vehicle integration and optimize performance. When it’s manufacturing season, our engineers TIG weld the frame in-house. Within Ergonomics, our engineers exhaustively collaborate with our drivers to guarantee comfort, developing several CAD iterations of driver components such as the seat, brake and acceleration pedals, steering wheel, dashboard, and everything else that the driver interacts with. Ergonomics engineers manufacture their components in a variety of ways: manual & CNC machining, 3D printing, laser-cutting, and even composite manufacturing.
