Electronics

Hardware, Software

The electronics system is responsible for the design, manufacturing, and integration of all electrical components on the car, covering custom PCBs, wire harnessing, and test equipment. From sensors to power distribution and data logging, the electronics team ensures that the control systems for the car are as robust and responsive as possible. The electronics system is comprised of 2 subsystems: hardware and software.

One of the key areas electronics works in is the integration of the countless sensors on the car, ranging from oil temp and shock travel sensors all the way to complex pitot-static pressure tubes on our aero package that all feed into a central data acquisition system. These sensors allow the team to have a clear understanding of the status and behavior of the car, allowing for more in-depth tuning and data collection.

Alongside this, the electronics team produces multiple custom PCBs like the power distribution module, which manages and protects power delivery to all onboard electronics. In addition, every single wiring harness is hand-built by the electronics team, using industry standard practices to provide consistent and reliable data and power connections throughout the car. The electronics team plays a crucial role in the design, testing, and reliability of the car.
